Have you ever felt that feeling of inner emptiness without knowing why?

First of all, we need to understand the difference between spirituality and religion. We have the idea that spirituality has to be linked to a religion, and although both have the same destiny, which is to find God (as everyone conceives it), there is a big difference.

Religion vs Spirituality

First of all, we need to understand the difference between spirituality and religion. We have the idea that spirituality has to be linked to a religion, and although both have the same destiny, which is to find God (as everyone conceives it), there is a big difference.

Religion is a system of beliefs, customs, and symbols established by man around an idea of divinity and the need to explain it to the world to satisfy their needs regarding the meaning of life. There are several religions that respond to the needs of each society.

And on the other hand, spirituality is the knowledge and acceptance of the essence of who we are. In spirituality, one does not believe in something said by someone else; one knows that it is something more than a mind and a physical body. In the spiritual experience, there are no races, ages, genders, social classes, or academic level. Time, space, and reason do not exist in the spiritual experience either because it is universal and anyone can achieve it. The purpose is to discover individually how to do it.

Spirituality comes from the depths of us. Our spiritual body is the greatest of all. It is what we are, and it is what keeps us united to the universal soul.

Spiritual health has not yet been standardized.

For many who call themselves atheists, spirituality has to do with religion. For others, spirituality is useless, but spirituality is a kind of flashlight that lights our way and keeps us alive. Remember, we are all spiritual beings living a temporary human experience, so think about the benefit it would bring to your life once the balance between your physical, mental, and spiritual health has been restored.

Many people have the mistaken idea that a spiritual person does not enjoy life with all the normal pleasures that it offers. A person who works on their spiritual health can integrate their spiritual resources into their daily lives, using that knowledge to be able to face the crises that arise for their growth and well-being.  The fact is that spirituality has a very positive impact on health regardless of whether you practice any religion or not. In the end, we all have the commonality of finding inner peace in our lives.

Strengthening the spirit is essential for life.

Today, and with this change of era, the search for the inner self has been increasing even more. And so it is that, through holistic therapies, the practice of yoga, etc., we seek to satisfy the needs of the self to combat the stress, anxiety, and frustration that we face every day. Just as when we go to the doctor or psychologist to treat some causes related to stress, we should also think about giving our spiritual health a space to review what is not bringing us peace.

Here, in parentheses, the word “health” means “to integrate the condition of well-being in the body, mind, and spirit.” The word spirit comes from the Latin ‘spiritus’ and from the verb ‘spirare‘, which means to breathe, and breathing is essential to living a true life.

Strengthening the spirit is just as essential to life. Those who do not follow any spiritual discipline have, without knowing why, a feeling of inner emptiness. Has it happened to you? The spirit is the guide that connects us with a power greater than ourselves. Practicing spirituality is the way to find meaning, hope, relief, and inner peace in life.

When we carry out the development of our spiritual health, we can also accept the situations and circumstances of life. Remember that acceptance is the key that opens the exit door to suffering, and with good spiritual health, we can also make better decisions. For our learning and growth, we can face illness, death, and everything that we cannot change naturally. It also helps us to recognize the impermanence of things, to love everything and everyone unconditionally, and to understand that we are one with everything.

We are spiritual beings having a human experience

A spiritual being is not a mystical being, nor does he need to follow any religion, nor does he need to live in a temple, or disconnect from the whole world while spending hours meditating.

He does not need to study any philosophy to discover spirituality; he only needs to understand, know, and feel that superior power, universal being, creator, or divine source, as you want to call it, that you already have inside you and fully trust in that to know how to surrender and let it guide our steps.

The spiritual path is individual and very personal. Each one must find a way to dust off that connection they have with the Superior Being, since this would help us in our evolution.

There are many invaluable tools to be able to start a spiritual path. Remember that we are on this planet to discover ours. We have a unique and unrepeatable map with very personal instructions to continue getting to know each other, understand the capacity we have, and, of course, the sense that our life has.

Knowing others is wisdom, knowing yourself is Enlightenment. – Lao Tzu
